Crews found scattered wreckage of the aircraft, but Tapp was never found.

Tapp left behind a wife and two kids.

Rolling Thunder held the ceremony and recognized Tapp’s family.

“It makes you proud of your heritage, particularly things like this. I’m very proud to be related to someone who’s just serving their country and doing such a wonderful thing,” said Pat Talley, Nephew.

Rolling Thunder says there are 14 Vietnam veterans still missing in action.

Rolling Thunder will honor each of them.
