LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Residents and commuters within Fayette and Jessamine counties are invited to review and offer input on the region’s 2045 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) on Tuesday evening.
Officials say this long-range plan is important because it guides how federal dollars will be spent on regional transportation projects and programs over the next 26 years.
“Everyone who lives and travels through Fayette and Jessamine counties is affected by transportation, so public feedback is a vital part of the process of long-term planning, “said Kenzie Gleason with the Lexington Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). “We want residents and commuters to voice their priorities and concerns so that we can take that into account when making regional transportation decisions.”
The public will be able to view and offer feedback on the plan both in-person and online.
The MTP will be holding an open house public meeting for the public to review the plan on Tuesday, March 26 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Lexington Public Library’s Tates Creek Branch at 3628 Walden Drive.
The draft 2045 plan will also be available online at lexarempo.org until April 13, 2019 for the public to review and offer comments on. Additionally, people can direct questions and offer comments about the plan to the MPO by contacting Kenzie Gleason at email@example.com or at 859-258-3605.
