US 62 and KY 286 was open Friday morning for commuters but closed around 8:30 a.m. to help assist with emergency response. A number of side roads through the damage corridor will also remain closed.

Eastbound traffic on US 62 and KY 286 will be detoured via KY 726/McKendree Church Road to US 60. Westbound traffic on US 62 will be detoured via KY 786 and KY 305 through the airport area to US 60.

Truck traffic is highly encouraged to continue traveling US 60 between Paducah and Wickliffe to help reduce traffic volume through the storm-damage corridor.

The public is asked to avoid the tornado damage corridor Friday to allow emergency responders to work on recovery efforts.

KYTC personnel worked closely with utility crews, area fire departments, and rescue squads to clear utility lines, downed trees and other debris.
