UPDATE: Mount Sterling man killed in crash on I-64 identified

BATH COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- A Montgomery County man was killed in a collision with a semi on I-64 in Bath County late Wednesday morning, according to KSP.

State Police say 47-year-old John Walls, of Beecher City, Illinois, was driving a semi  eastbound I-64, when the semi crossed the median and collided with a pickup truck driven by 44-year-old Christopher Short, of Mount Sterling, who was driving westbound.

Investigators say Short died at the scene. Walls was taken to a hospital in Morehead for treatment.

The cause of the deadly collision is under investigation.

BATH COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Officials say one person is dead after a crash involving a semi.

Names have not been released.

BATH COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) —Traffic officials say a serious crash has I-64 West blocked at the 120 mile marker.

They say traffic is being detoured at exit 123 or 121 to US 60 West through downtown Owingsville to Mount Sterling. Officials say this will last into the evening hours.

Drivers are asked to use caution and expect delays along the detour route, or seek alternate routes to destinations west of Owingsville.
