London, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say the driver of a stolen vehicle led them on a pursuit Friday through two counties.
Troopers say they attempted to pull over a vehicle around 12 a.m. Friday on I-75 in Laurel County. A pursuit followed, as a result, taking officers through Whitley County as well.
Other officers assisted and deployed spike strips, after learning the vehicle had been stolen from Michigan.
Troopers say the stolen vehicle was stopped a short distance later after the driver lost control and crashed into a ditch. A short foot pursuit took place. Officers arrested 18-year-old Harold Summers, of Burton, Michigan.
Summers was lodged in the Laurel Co. Detention Center on charges of Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Motor Vehicle, Fleeing or evading police 2nd on Foot, Improper Use of Left Lane, Reckless Driving, Possession of Marijuana, Theft of Motor Vehicle and Operating with No License.
Williamsburg Police and the Whitley County Sheriff’s Department assisted. The incident remains under investigation.
