LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 20, 2019) – A new music festival will make its way to The Grounds at Keeneland this fall.
Keeneland officials announced the Railbird Festival details on Wednesday. The two-day event will take place August 10-11.
The festival is being produced by AC Entertainment, which also produces Bonnaroo, Forecastle and High Water.
“With all of our festivals, we aspire to create an experience that stands apart from others – that is a true celebration of place, of the richness and uniqueness of a community,” said Ashley Capps, president of AC Entertainment.
Festival planners said the event will feature a mix of rock, Americana, folk and bluegrass. Specific musical acts will be announced later.
A number of bourbon distillers will be on-site as well as local foods and craft beers.
Several local nonprofit organizations will partner with Railbird including: Central Music Academy, Central Kentucky Riding for Hope, Fayette Alliance and Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. Each nonprofit will receive monetary support from the festival.
The event will take place in The Meadow and on The Hill surrounding Keeneland, rather than inside the racetrack gates, paddock or infield areas.
The festival will offer a number of VIP and General Admission (GA) level equine-focused experiences, excursions and meals, as well as off-track wagering, and more.
