LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says that the east and westbound rest areas in Woodford County will be temporarily closed for an extended time period.
The facilities are located on Interstate 64 between milepoints 60.2 and 60.7. The closures are necessary for lift station repairs. In addition, renovation operations for both rest areas will be underway.
KYTC says they will be closed until Friday, May 3 at 8 a.m.
Traffic officials say semi-tractor trailer drivers may continue to use the rest areas and temporary accommodations are in place.
All work is subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
