Lexington man charged in crash that injured two children


BEAVER DAM, Ky. (WTVQ) — Kentucky State Police arrest a Lexington man who they say drunk when he crashed his truck with two children inside in Ohio.

According to police, 43-year-old Nathan Stevens was driving on the Western Kentucky Parkway and attempted to exit onto the William Natcher Parkway when he lost control of his truck.

His truck hit a guardrail and overturned into ditch.

A five-year-old child and an eight-month-old baby were injured in the crash.

Police say the baby was not secured in a seat and thrown onto the floorboard of the truck.

Both children were taken to the hospital.

Stevens was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence with aggravating circumstances, wanton endangerment, possession of open alcoholic beverage container, assault, criminal abuse, and failure to use child restraint device.

Stevens was booked into the Ohio County Detention Center.
