Police say their investigation revealed the man, 28-year-old Rodney Elam, provided methamphetamine to the woman, and was seen carrying her into the men’s restroom after she had passed out.

According to police, Elam waited to call for help.

The Fayette County Coroner’s Office says the woman, identified as 18-year-old Sarah Boyken, of Waco, died four days later at St. Joseph hospital in Lexington.

The cause of death has not been released.

Elam is charged with assault and trafficking in a controlled substance.

Police say those charges could be upgraded.
