PERRY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – Health officials report a food worker in Perry County has been diagnosed with hepatitis A.
The Kentucky River District Health Department says it received a report on November 20 about an employee at Lee’s Famous Recipe Chicken on East Main Street in Hazard testing positive for hepatitis A.
The health department says the employee did go to work with symptoms of hepatitis A and was directly involved in the preparation of food.
Health officials say customers who dined at the restaurant between October 25 and November 13 may have been exposed and are recommending those customers get a Hepatitis A vaccination.
Management is said to be taking appropriate steps to clean and sanitize the restaurant.
