POWELL COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Stanton Police Department has arrested two people after children were found living in what they say was a total disarray of cleanliness.
Police say they responded to a domestic violence call on Graham Street and when officers arrived, they forced entry.
Officers say that when they got inside the home, there were numerous piles of dog feces along with a 5-gallon bucket almost filled to the top with human feces. Officers say they opened three bedroom doors surrounded by flies. One officer says he had to leave the home to vomit.
While clearing the home, officers found a 17-year-old girl in a bedroom. Officers found parents, Jessie and Diana Patrick at the back of the residence. The two were frisked and Jessie Patrick was arrested after having needles, a metal spoon and drugs on him.
Police say a 9-year-old child who also lives at the home was at church at the time of this incident.
Diana Patrick says she had been trying to clean the place up, but had been unsuccessful. Diana Patrick is an employee of the Powell County School District.
The school district says the situation is in law enforcement’s hands.
