LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Wednesday was the groundbreaking for the next St. Jude Dream Home.
It’s an important fundraiser for the hospital whose patient’s families never receive a bill.
The next Dream Home is located off Polo Club Boulevard. It will be used to raise money to find a cure for childhood cancer.
“Last year, we raised over $600,000 for the kids at St. Jude. This year, we’re looking to raise over $700,000,” said Haley Mefford with St. Jude.
DB Homes is building the home at no cost for a fifth time.
“We have three kids of our own, my husband and I, so to see kids getting pulled around in rope wagons, it’s very heart wrenching,” said Erin Brester, co-owner of DB Homes.
Tickets for the St. Jude Dream Home go on sale in February. ABC 36 is once again proud to partner with St. Jude on this project.
