LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Voices of Hope, Lexington, Inc. is offering a new program that will serve as an evidence based peer support service.
The new program is called Telephone Recovery Support (TRS) and is a support service for people in recovery from drugs or alcohol addiction.
Those using the service will get a weekly call from a trained volunteer who will ask, “”How can we help you with your recovery today?”
Volunteers may also offer information about resources in the community.
TRS’ goal is to build relationships with people in early recovery as well as to give them someone to talk to and support them.
Reports show that those who stay in recovery longer experience better physical, emotional, social and spiritual functioning.
