UPDATE: Victim identified, police charge Lexington man with murder, rape, kidnapping


UPDATE: LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The name of the man who was found shot dead on the front porch of a Squires Woods Way apartment Tuesday night has been released.

The victim was 19-year-old Christopher Spencer, according to the Fayette County Coroner’s Office.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a domestic dispute led to a fatal shooting in Lexington Tuesday.

Police were called to an apartment in the 3500-block of Squires Woods Way to a report of a shooting just before 10 p.m.Tuesday.

They say a man was found shot dead on the front porch of the apartment.

The suspect in the shooting, identified as 21-year-old Morgan Taylor Johnson, was in the apartment, holding a woman hostage, according to police.

The Emergency Response Unit along with the Crisis Negotiation Unit responded to the scene and began negotiations with Johnson.

Police say he came out of the apartment with the woman at around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Johnson is charged with murder, kidnapping, rape, and burglary.
