LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) — The Tiny House Roadshow is coming to Lexington September 16 – 18, 2016. The 3-day event, to be held in Heritage Hall at the Lexington Convention Center, will be dedicated to all things related to tiny house living.  Approximately 20 tiny houses will be open for touring, and more than 25 vendors will demonstrate products used in tiny living. For information about show hours and tickets, visit www.lexingtoncenter.com

The Roadshow is the brain child of tiny house designer and builder Dale Geist, of Livingston, Tennessee. Geist, who works alongside his son, Scott Geist, founded Tiny By Design in 2014. Interest in his work has been fueled by the many programs now being seen on HGTV, and many other channels. HGTV filmed the Geist’s work last year for a segment that is still being broadcast on-demand (Tiny House Hunters, season 2, episode 10).

“The tiny house movement is one of the hottest trends in America,” said Geist. “It is popular among people from all walks of life, young-to-old, and rich-to-poor – it is a cross-cultural phenomenon that is sweeping the country. The roadshow is for anyone who seeks a simpler, less cluttered life, and also those who are just curious.”  Many media outlets are touting this third in a series of Roadshows put on by Geist as a must see., ” And the Lexington Convention and  Visitors Bureau enthused,  “We are so excited about the  Tiny House Roadshow convening in Lexington.”

Geist realized in his research of tiny house living that a large segment of the population was being overlooked. It wasn’t just young people desiring the simple lifestyle. Baby boomers were also seeing the benefits of downsizing their possessions and lifestyle. To appeal to this older group of Americans, Geist designs tiny houses with first floor living – no climbing ladders to go to bed at night.  Also he has added expansion slides to his designs, for those who want a little more space.

“Downsizing doesn’t mean you have to give up luxury,” said Geist. “We specialize in custom-built, one of a kind tiny houses by working closely with our clients to fulfill their dreams”.   It is exciting to see how many people are interested in tiny house living. The Tiny House Roadshow was created to meet the growing interest in the market. We hope everyone will come by and see what all the buzz is about.”
