2016 36 Blitz: Henry Clay Blue Devils

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Henry Clay is hard at work in hopes of going ‘Back to the Future’ in 2016.

1995 would be a nice destination to relive.  That’s the last time the Blue Devils competed for a state title, falling to Louisville Saint Xavier.

No current Henry Clay player was even alive when the Devils played the Tigers at the Fairgrounds in the Ville.

1981 might be a better year to jump to.  That’s the last time Henry Clay won a state crown.

But it won’t be easy getting to Bowling Green.

Head coach Sam Simpson has provided stability to the program through the years as other Fayette County schools have seen turnover, Simpson has stayed put.

Now it’s time for a group of talented players to step up and rise to the occasion.

Alex Risen has the preview in the video as the 36 Blitz rolls on off Fontaine.
