2 fishermen released from hospital after treatment for hypothermia

RUSSELL SPRINGS, Ky. (WTVQ) — Two fishermen were released from the hospital on Christmas Eve after being treated for hypothermia resulting from their boat capsizing.

The two men were released from the hospital around 2:30 p.m.

Around 7:30 a.m. that day, the two men lost engine power and their boat capsized in the Cumberland River in Russell County.

Only one man was able to get back into the boat. The other man was held by the man in the boat until Russell County Search & Rescue arrived at the scene.

Both men were taken to the hospital for treatment for hypothermia and have since made full recoveries.

The men were both wearing life jackets, RCSAR noted.
