LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 News Now) — The 17-year-old suspect originally arrested in the case of two missing teens turned 18 on Monday and is now being held at the Fayette County Detention Center. He has been identified as Jesus Eduardo Reyes-Ocampo. He is charged with two counts of murder in connection to the deaths of 16-year-old Ali Naqvi and 15-year-old Aoun Basboos, along with tampering with physical evidence. Reyes-Ocampo is scheduled for a hearing on July 23, when a judge is expected to decide whether he will be tried as an adult.
A second suspect, 47-year-old Jesus Reyes-Rodriguez, is charged with tampering with physical evidence in the case. Both men were arrested on May 15 after police located a white Acura ILX tied to the teens’ disappearance at the Loradale Market on Russell Cave Road.
Naqvi and Basboos were last seen May 11, getting into the back seat of that same car following a shots-fired incident on Spangler Drive. Naqvi’s body was later found in Harrison County. Later, Lexington police announced the discovery of Basboos’ body.
