18-wheeler, SUV get tangled on I-75 South
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Two drivers escaped serious injury Friday morning when their vehicles — an 18-wheeler and a large SUV — got tangled up on I-75 southbound.
The accident happened at about 8:25 a.m. just south of the 104 on ramp. The 18-wheeler jackknifed in the roadway and the SUV ended up along a tree line in the southbound shoulder and right-of-way.
Lexington Police said the SUV was experiencing mechanical problems and the driver was trying to get off the road, changed lanes and ended up in the path of the truck and was rear-ended.
Traffic was slowed while emergency crews checked the drivers and cleared the vehicles.
