18- and 17-year-olds arrested after alleged stabbing of man
EUBANK, Ky. (WTVQ) — An 18-year-old and a 17-year-old were arrested after their alleged involvement in the stabbing of a Somerset man over the weekend. However, the man who was stabbed was arrested as well.
On Jan. 28, around 4 p.m., Lincoln County deputies were called to a home on Tower Drive in Pulaski County for a possible stabbing.
Once there, deputies found a 17-year-old boy and an 18-year-old woman who said a man had come uninvited into their home, claiming it was a home invasion. An “altercation” happened between the 17-year-old and the man, in which the boy stabbed the man.
Lincoln County deputies say the man, later identified as Andrew Stringer, had come into the emergency room at Lake Cumberland Regional Medical Center with a stab wound to his back. However, Pulaski County deputies say they found Stringer on the side of Highway 27 with the stab wound, and Stringer told them a “tall, skinny, male wearing a black hoodie and baseball cap came up from behind his vehicle and stabbed him in the back.”
Both sheriff’s offices say Stringer provided a false report of the incident and he was arrested.
Lincoln County deputies continued investigating with the 18-year-old and 17-year-old.
Allegedly, the 18-year-old, later identified as Alyssa Burton, and the boy, invited Stringer over to the home via social media.
The boy and Stringer were involved in an altercation and the boy stabbed Stringer in the back with a large kitchen knife, deputies said.
After Stringer left the scene, Burton allegedly tried to clean the knife and didn’t report the incident until about two hours later. It was also determined no home invasion occurred.
The boy is charged with assault; Burton is charged with conspiracy to commit assault, tampering with physical evidence and disorderly conduct; and Stringer is charged with falsely reporting an incident to law enforcement.
