17-year-old Clark County student killed in ‘farming accident’
WINCHESTER, Ky. (WTVQ) — A 17-year-old Clark County student was killed in a tragic farming accident over the weekend.
Ryan Phelps, a George Rogers Clark High School student, died Saturday from injuries in the accident, the Clark County Public School system wrote in a statement.
“This unspeakable tragedy has significantly affected our entire school district community, particularly our high school student body. The coming days and weeks will be extremely hard for our students. Counselors and community grief response professionals will be available as long as necessary for anyone who may need or want help or any type of assistance surrounding this loss,” the statement reads.
A support group for his family has started a “meal train” to help cook or buy meals for his family.
“I am organizing a meal train for Maria and her family. Ryan was loved by so many! He was such a kind, fun spirit and will be missed dearly. This is a small way to pull some burden off of the family during this hard time. If you can not do a meal please pray for all who loved him,” the page reads.
