14 Kentucky beats Missouri for second win in a row
Wildcats win 73-65 in Columbia on Thursday night
COLUMBIA, Mo. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- A three point halftime deficit was quickly wiped away in the second half by Kentucky women’s basketball to beat Missouri away from home on Thursday night.
UK secures back to back wins for the first time since it won three in a row versus Arkansas, Alabama and Oklahoma earlier this month.

Clara Strack led the team with 22 points and Georgia Amoore was not far behind with 19. Teonni Key and Dazia Lawrence also tallied double-figure scoring performances.
Those four Cats accounted for all but five of Kentucky’s 73 points versus the Tigers. UK shot well from close range, but not from behind the arc going 4/14 on three point attempts.
Strack stood out with a team-high 12 rebounds, nine of them coming on defense. UK was outrebounded overall though, 39-27.
Both teams combined for 22 turnovers, but Kentucky capitalized the most scoring 22 points off of Mizzou’s 12 miscues that gave them the ball.
Second Half Salvo
Missouri’s largest lead during the entire game was four just before halftime. Then the Cats cut it to three heading into the locker room.
In the third quarter, Kentucky went on an 8-0 run with just over four and a half minutes remaining to obtain a nine point lead. Strack, Key, Amoore and Saniah Tyler were responsible for the Wildcat salvo.
Mizzou would score just five points during the rest of the third quarter, but tried to make a comeback in the fourth.
Kentucky would lead by as many as 10 and had a large enough cushion to win even though Laniah Randle and Averi Kroenke combined for 13 points to help whittle the Cats’ lead to as little as two a couple of times.
