11th annual Live United Day
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) —- Governor Beshear joined members of Live United Way at the Capitol to recognize the growth of the Commonwealth and address what still needs to be done.
President of Live United Way Kentucky Kevin Middleton gave a moving speech about the strength of Kentuckians and the dedication of Live United to prioritizing their health, income and education.
“These priorities represent our commitment to breaking down the barriers that hold families back,” he said. “Kentucky needs policies that promote growth, because every thriving community has thriving individuals and thriving families right at the heart of it.”
The organization’s main focus today was childhood education. They are calling on legislators to prioritize this topic during the legislative session. Governor Beshear also reiterated his fight for universal pre-k.
This was the 11th annual Live United day at the Capitol, and members hope to have many more in the coming years.
