UPDATE: Owen County man swept away in flash floods

OWEN COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) 11:30 a.m. – The family of Paul Switzer, a 48-year-old man from Owen County, said he died in the rising floodwaters last night.

According to WCPO, Switzer’s brother said he found the body shortly before 6 a.m. Monday morning, downstream from the truck his brother had been trying to save.

Emergency crews are still working on the scene, says WCPO, though the search has been halted.

Emergency crews are searching for a man that was swept away during heavy rains and flash flooding in Owen County.

According to Owen County Emergency Management, as much as 20 inches of rain fell.

ABC 36 was told the man went missing Sunday around 5p.m. off of Teresite Road near route 227.

Crews stopped their search  around 11:30 Sunday and will continue Monday morning.
