Trafficking charges for Georgetown man after investigation

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) -Police in Georgetown say a narcotics investigation led to the arrest of a man on possession and trafficking charges.

While the investigation was being conducted last year, detectives say they monitored the purchase of cocaine on two separate occasions from 84-year-old Curtis L. Wheeler, of Georgetown.

Officers say they performed a traffic stop on Wheeler on April 11, and discovered cocaine on him.  He was charged with possession.

On the 15th of April, Police in Georgetown then discovered from Wheeler’s federal parole officer that a federal arrest warrant had been issued.

Officers found Wheeler on Hickman Street on the 16th, again with cocaine in his possession.  He was once again arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance.
