Sheriff: Mother arrested, too intoxicated to locate child

LONDON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Laurel Co. Sheriff says a London mother was arrested after being found in such a state of intoxication that she did not know where her 9-year-old child was.

According to the Sheriff, 45-year-old Tracy House was arrested Tuesday just after 2:00 p.m. at her home on Pine Top Road.  The Sheriff says a deputy was sent to the house after receiving a complaint call about a woman passed out on her front porch from inhaling aerosol cans.  The caller also said that there might be a child inside the home.

A deputy was sent to the home and says upon arrival, he found House, unresponsive but breathing, holding two 12-ounce “Ultra Duster” aerosol cans, outside the home.  After an ambulance was called, the deputy entered the home, in an attempt to find the child.

The deputy says that as he was entering the home, House awoke, and started inhaling from the cans again.  According to the deputy, House said the child was in the home, but it was later determined that the child was at school.

House was charged with public intoxication, among other charges, and was arrested.

The Deputy says that House also has outstanding warrants for her arrest.

She was taken to the Laurel Co. Detention Center.
