Arrest made in Boyd Co. gas station robbery

ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they have made an arrest in connection to the robbery of a Clarks Pump ‘n’ Shop on East US 60 in Rush, Kentucky.

Officers say on Saturday, March 12, just after 8:30 a.m., a man entered the business and demanded cash from the clerk.  Troopers say the man showed a gun to the clerk, but that no one was injured in the robbery.

According to police, investigation of the evidence led them to arrest James M. Newland, 39, of Ashland, in connection to the case.

Newland has been charged with robbery, and taken to the Boyd Co. Detention Center.
