KSP asking public for help in Ashland double murder

ASHLAND, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police in Ashland are asking for help from the public in relation to a double murder in Lawrence Co.

According to troopers, Lois and Michael Gartin were found dead in their home on Knob Branch on Saturday.  Officers say they had both died of gunshot wounds.  In addition to the deaths, a 2003 Jeep Liberty belonging to Lois Gartin had been taken from the home.

Police have arrested 47-year-old Stanley Webb, Jr., a relative of the family, in the theft of the vehicle.  He was found on Sunday just before 3:30 p.m. by the Columbus Ohio Police Department and charged with theft and being a convicted felon with a firearm.

Kentucky State Police are still asking the public for any information relating to the murder of Lois and Michael Gartin. Callers may remain anonymous and can call the Kentucky State Police at 606-928-6421.
