10-foot Grand Menorah lighting kicks off Chanukah Festival of Lights
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)-Chanukah, the Festival of Lights, began this year on the evening of Sunday, December 22 and concludes the evening of Monday, December 30.
Sunday evening, a 10-foot Grand Menorah was lit in a community-wide celebration.
The ceremony, organized by Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Shlomo Litvin, was attended by leaders from across the community including Chief Weathers of the Lexington Police Department.
Throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky, Chabad will be presenting dozens of Chanukah events and celebrations, including public Menorah Lightnings, Menorah Parades, Latke Parties, Ice Skating, Dinners and more.
Here in Lexington, there will grand lightnings at the Joseph-Beth Booksellers at 6 pm on December 26th, and at the Summit at Fritz Farms with Radio Personality Matt Jones on December 29th at 6 pm.
