1 charged with murder after fatal crash

HARTFORD, Ky. (AP) — One man has been charged with murder after a single-car crash in western Kentucky left his passenger dead.

Kentucky State Police say 44-year-old Jimmy L. Carden of Fordsville wrecked his car just before midnight Tuesday in Ohio County. Trooper Corey King says Carden left the scene and was found a short time later.

King says Carden’s passenger, 51-year-old Danny J. Jackson Jr., of Reynolds Station, died at the scene.

Carden was treated at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital.

Carden is also charged with wanton endangerment, leaving the scene of an accident, DUI and possession of an open alcohol container.

Ohio County Detention Center records did not list an attorney for Carden.
