A cold front is drifting south across Kentucky today, causing a few additional thunderstorms to form. The heaviest will be south of I-64.
Ahead of a cold front scattered storms will continue overnight into Friday, when more strong to severe storms are expected.
A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect through 11pm this evening.
Severe thunderstorms are developing across central and eastern Kentucky, and some of the storms are severe.
A Flash Flood Watch is in effect across southeastern Kentucky, with Heat Advisories in northern parts of the Commonwealth.
Mostly cloudy skies and thunderstorms are expected to return on Thursday.
Temperatures will rise into the lower 90s today with high humidity. T-storms will develop. Heat Advisories continue in the north.
Afternoon thunderstorms will be more numerous on Wednesday as temperatures return into the 90s.
