A second re-enforcing cold front will move across Kentucky tonight. This front will be the actual arctic blast and bring a short lives cold blast to the region. We’ve seen mostly cloudy skies for mostly of the day with spot showers across Kentucky mainly in eastern Kentucky today.

A soggy end to the week as overnight rain showers continued into our Friday morning. There was a brief break in the shower activity during the afternoon hours before the cold front moved through the temperatures began to take a small turn.

Rainy and windy weather throughout the day as a potent surface low across the Great Lakes made its presents known in the Bluegrass. Gusts were recorded over 40 mph in several locations with over 50 mph gusts in Clark County. Temperatures were mild in the 50s even though it may not have seemed like it with the rain, it may not matter as a extremely strong cold pushes across the region tonight.

Temperatures haven’t move much today from there morning lows in the upper 20s to the highs in the upper 30s. Overcast skies have been apparent all day and a breezy east wind is beginning to kick in as a strong low pressure is starting to move closer to the Bluegrass.

A soggy Saturday followed by a temperature plunge

Temperatures were over 20 degrees cooler than the record highs experienced on Wednesday across the Bluegrass. The other big difference is, of course, the sunshine; we’ve had mostly sunny skies all day long with a weak area of high pressure in control for now.
