Kentucky native Lauren Shepard joined the ABC 36 news team as a reporter in September 2017. Lauren grew up in small-town Cynthiana, Kentucky where she developed a love of news at a young age. Now, she's living out her life-long dream in her home state.
Lauren graduated from Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky in May 2017. There she earned two Bachelor's of Arts degrees in Media Communications and Journalism.
During her time at Asbury, Lauren had the opportunity to work at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Olympics. She spent a month working at Mineirão Staduim, the soccer venue in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. She served as the Broadcast Liaison Officer for the venue, working directly with reporters from all over the world.
Aside from her work in media, Lauren enjoys spending time with her family and friends, looking at cute pictures of raccoons, and watching The Phantom of the Opera time and time again.
Lauren loves calling the Bluegrass State her home and is eager to bring her fellow Kentuckians the news that matters most to them.
Lauren encourages you to send her any story ideas you may have. Find her on Facebook at Lauren Shepard ABC 36, tweet her @LShepardWTVQ, or email her at LShepard@wtvq.com.
