Caity Jackson is a reporter and fill-in anchor at ABC36. Caity grew up in a suburb right outside of Dayton, Ohio. She is no stranger to Kentucky as her family hails from Berea. She comes from Lima, Ohio where she was the anchor for WLIO’s FOX show.
Caity has a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Electronic Media from Eastern Kentucky University where she graduated Cum Laude as a distinguished Senior. During her time at Eastern she also got the opportunity to host ABC’s Good Morning America live along side EKU grad Sam Champion, highlighting the college. During her college career she also competed for the coveted title of Miss Kentucky representing the Horse Capital of the World. As a young girl, Caity always knew she wanted to be on the news. Running her own news station from her Barbie tent in her room at the age of six, and reporting with a “colored marker” microphone.
It has always been Caity’s goal to report in Lexington. She feels at home near family, friends, and Southern Hospitality. She loves meeting new people on the job, and hearing their stories. Caity enjoys exploring the outdoors, trying new foods, yoga, watching UK basketball, playing golf, mentoring pageant competitors, and spending time with friends and family. Look for her out and about in the community!
Caity invites you to reach out to her with story ideas! Find her on Facebook at cjacksonWTVQ, tweet her @newsladycaity, or email her at cjackson@wtvq.com . She looks forward to hearing from you!
