LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – State Sen. Alice Forgy Kerr, a Lexington Republican, has issued a statement saying she will not run for re-election in 2022.
Sen. Kerr represented Fayette County in the Kentucky Senate for 23 years.
In her statement, Sen. Kerr expresses her gratitude and appreciation to her constituents and thanks her family and friends who have supported her over her tenure.
Sen. Kerr commented that she knows there are “other capable individuals in the
district that will give voters a choice as to who will represent the 12th Senate District beginning in 2023.”
“Throughout my life, I have had various opportunities to serve others,” said Sen. Kerr. “I will pause for now, but I look forward to seeing what God has in store for the next chapter of my life.”
