Bond not yet set for Salyersville man in shooting case

SALYERSVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 41-year-old Salyersville man remains in jail with no bond set following a shooting in Magoffin County.

According to Kentucky State Police, Michael Perkins is charged with first-degree assault in connection with the shooting Sunday of Bobby Stephens on Rockhouse Fork Road.

As of Wednesday morning, Perkins remained in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center with no bnd set, according to jail records.

Detective Jason Merlo is leading the investigation. He was assisted on scene by KSP personnel and Magoffin County Sheriff’s Department.
