KSP arrest Mayfield man on drug, other charges


MAYFIELD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 28-year-old Mayfield man gives a ‘thumbs up in his arrest photo after leading troopers on a chase Sunday night.

According to the Kentucky State Police, Philip Vrhovnik is charged with Criminal Trespassing 3rd Degree, Disorderly Conduct 2nd Degree, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot), Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/Possess, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 1st Offense (Methamphetamine).

According to the KSP, at about 10 p.m. Sunday, troopers received a call about a suspicious person walking through the back yards of residences near the area of Clark Street and 15th Street in Mayfield.

While on an unrelated complaint, a man saw a trooper and began yelling and cursing at him. The trooper made contact with Vrhovnik, who ended up running away through residential yards and across a street, the KSP said.

He ended up at a tree line and stood there. After a brief struggle, he was apprehended.

KSP continue to investigate.
