BOURBON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A Bourbon County man who pleaded guilty to making child pornography has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison.
27-year-old Jonathan Mason pleaded guilty in January of this year, according to documents.
According to federal prosecutors, investigators became aware of Mason because of his activity on the social media app “KIK.”
Mason was initially was charged with receiving and distributing child pornography but as the investigation continued, prosecutors say they discovered Mason was producing child porn.
They say Mason admitted to having explicit images he produced of children and that he sent the images he produced of children and that he sent the images out over the internet.
Under the plea agreement, Mason must serve at least 85-percent of his sentence.
