SHELBY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises motorists of the full closure of the bridge on KY 636 over Little Beech Creek in Shelby County.
According to KYTC, the bridge was closed to traffic Wednesday after concrete deterioration was found on the deck.
KYTC engineers will perform material testing and additional inspections on the structure.
Motorists can take the following detour:
- KY 44 (Mt. Eden Road) to KY 714 (Hempridge Road) to U.S. 60 (Shelbyville Road) to KY 395 (Waddy Road).
The bridge was constructed in 1951, and an average of 256 cars cross it daily. The structure will remain closed until further notice.
The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
