LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A woman was seriously injured Friday morning when her car skidded in icy conditions and crashed into a tree.
The woman was westbound on Paris Pike just west of Carterbrook Road when her Hyundai Sonata got into some slush along the right shoulder. When she corrected, she skidded across the left lane into the median and a tree, witnesses, police and evidence at the scene said.
The car bounced back into the middle of the travel lanes.
The accident happened at about 9:15 a.m. and the road was closed for about 90 minutes.
It was one of several weather-related crashes Friday morning.
