Lexington, Ky (WTVQ) – On Saturday, the VA health care center welcomed back veterans for their scheduled appointments to receive their second dose of the Covid 19 vaccine.
Patients were in and out of the clinic within 20 to 25 minutes, to maintain social distance.
This was a short time compared to when they waited in line for hours before getting their first shot.
Around 4000 vets are expected to receive their second dose over the next two days.
“I would’ve driven to another state. First of all, I’m a firm believer in getting the vaccine. I think we all need to I think we owe it to ourselves and to our communities and I wanna hug my grandkids again,” says Marolyn hale, a recipient of the vaccine.
As a reminder, this is not a walk-in event.
Only those with appointments will be able to get the second shot.
