BRINKLEY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 40-year-old woman was killed Thursday evening in a near head-on crash in Knott County.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Amanda Brown, of Brinkley, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which happened just before 7 p..m. on KY 160 in the Brinkley community in Knott County.
Troopers said the investigation indicates 47-year-old Willis Handshoe, of Leburn, was northbound on KY 160 in a 2006 GMC Sierra when the truck crossed the center line and hit the 1999 Ford Brown was driving southbound.
A passenger with Brown, 60-year-old Delana Caudill, of Brinkley, was airlifted to Johnson City Medical Center to be treated for her injuries, where she is listed in stable condition.
Handshoe was transported to Hazard ARH to be treated for minor injuries.
Toxicology results are pending.
This collision was reconstructed and is still under investigation by Trooper Jarret Fields.
