VERSAILLES, Ky. (WTVQ) – One woman died and five other people had to find a temporary place to stay following an apartment fire in Versailles, according to investigators.
The victim’s name wasn’t immediately released. Investigators say she died at UK Hospital in Lexington on Wednesday.
Firefighters say the fire happened at Margaret Hall Manor Apartments just before 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The victim lived in a second-story apartment, according to the regional property manager of the building.
Five people from five apartments were displaced by water damage from the sprinkler system. Some are staying in hotels and others with family, according to the regional property manager, Ann Miller.
No word on a cause of the fire.
