Road closed, power out in Lawrenceburg for several hours after overnight crash


LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Emergency crews in Lawrenceburg have closed South Main Street after an overnight crash took out utility poles at about 4 a.m.

According to a notice posted by Lawrenceburg/Anderson County 911, “Due to a single vehicle accident South Main Street is closed from West Broadway to Hawkins Street. We have electric poles down with a power outage. The road is projected to be closed until lunch time. Please find an alternate route.”

Lawrenceburg Fire and Rescue said two utility poles are down, leading to the power outage. Repair crews are working to replace the poles and restore electricity to the impacted area and customers.

Lawrenceburg Police also said the road remain closed for “several hours” while repairs are made and the damage cleaned up.
