Air Wing mission leader. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity as Kentuckians, to help other Kentuckians.  Rain, sleet, or snow – we will ensure this testing site supports the overall effort to mitigate the effects of COVID-19.”

The Louisville testing site is the first Drive Through Testing Site the National Guard has participated in since late August 2020.  Additional testing sites are expected across the state to include one announced Wednesday by Governor Andy Beshear for Lexington starting November 16.

Each test site is expected to collect up to 300 tests per day, with a 2-3 day turn-around for participants to receive results.   Each participant will receive a pack of five cloth face-coverings provided by HHS to help slow the spread.

The Commonwealth has recently experienced record high numbers of new COVID-19 cases.  In concert with planning for future testing sites designed to help control the virus spread, Soldiers in both the 75th Troop Command, based in Louisville, and the 138th Field Artillery Brigade, based in Lexington, are ready for future missions across Kentucky.

“The Soldiers and Airmen in the Kentucky National Guard are most comfortable on the front lines in all efforts to support and defend our fellow Kentuckians,” said Brig. Gen. Hal Lamberton, Kentucky’s Adjutant General. “As the fight against this invisible enemy continues, we proudly assist the Governor in helping to combat it.”
