LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – A memorial walk for Breonna Taylor is set to take place Friday in Louisville. The University of Louisville’s Office of the President’s Commission on Diversity and Racial Equality (CODRE) is organizing the CODRE Cardinal Campus Come Together – Memorial Walk.
According to the university officials, two trees have been planted this week in Taylor’s honor, one on the Belknap campus and one on the Health Sciences Center campus.
Voter registration tables will be available and speakers, including President Dr. Neeli Bendapudi, will give remarks on Spalding University’s green space at the conclusion of the walk.
The memorial walk will take place Friday from 3:30 P.M. until 5 P.M. with speakers beginning at 4:15 P.M.
The walk is set to begin from both the Belknap and Health Sciences Center (HSC) campuses to join together at Spalding University’s green space at West Kentucky Street and South 2nd Street. Individuals walking from Belknap will begin at the University Pointe lawn across from the Ekstrom Library, and those leaving from the HSC campus will start at the Kosair Charities Clinical & Translational Research Building, 505 S. Hancock St.
