WOODFORD COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – They literally are the first and last line for schools, starting and ending the day with students
And with schools moving toward in-person classes, they are going to be even more important.
All that plus the risks involved are putting them in short supply.
They are school bus drivers.
Whether because of age, the risks of the coronavirus or the extra work trying to manage a bus full of anxious and rambunctious students, fewer men and women nationwide are taking on the responsibility of being a school bus driver.
One are district is putting out the call. Woodford County Schools put it simply: “We are looking for Bus Drivers!” it said on its Facebook page.
