LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Amy McGrath made a little fun of herself Wednesday during a campaign stop in Lexington.
While opening her first campaign field office on West Second Street, McGrath said her Marine fighter pilot background impacted the way she acted.
“I’m going to stand a way so I’m not projecting too much close to you, but I’m a Marine so hopefully you can hear me. I’m used to shouting. OK, sometimes it makes me look angry, my opponent puts it on ads and that’s unfortunate. But I’m not angry today, we’re opening a field office here, the first one of this campaign and it is a different kind of race.”
McGrath is running against Republican U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell.
