KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 30-year-old convicted felon is back in jail for firing a shot at an occupied car.
According to Knox County Sheriff’s investigators, 30-year-old Ricky Allen Vaughn Jr., of London, is charged with three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment and two counts of possession of a weapon by a felon.
The charges stem from an incident Thursday when a man told Knox County Deputy Elijah Broughton and KSP Trooper Sammy Farris he was driving on Moore Hill Avenue when Vaughn came toward him in a 2010 silver Cadillac, almost running him off the road.
The man he stopped to make sure no one had wrecked and when he did, Vaughn got out of his car “yelling and cursing at him.”
According to Knox County investigators, the victim said Vaughn pulled a pistol and fired a shot, hitting the back bumper of the man’s car, in which his brother-in-law and 4-year-old son were sitting.
A short time later, Farris found Vaughn as his Cadillac entered the lot of Speedy Mart on US 25E North.
During a search, deputies located a .380-caliber pistol and a .223 caliber AR-15 where Vaughn had been sitting, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.
The department did not say what prompted the dispute or shooting.
