JACKSON COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 2.2-mile stretch of a Jackson County road will be closed two days next week for slide repair and cross-drain replacement.
According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, KY 89 will be closed starting Monday, July 13 between milepoints 13.4 — the intersection with Hooten Road — and mile point 15.6 – the intersection with Indian Springs Lane.
KYTC maintenance crews will close the 2.2-mile section from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The work is expected to be complete by Wednesday, July 15.
Motorists should expect delays, avoid the route if possible and travel around the work zone with caution. There will not be a signed detour, but motorists can travel around the work zone via KY 2003 to KY 290 to U.S. 421.
All work and closures are scheduled on a tentative basis and subject to change depending on weather, emergencies and other factors beyond the control of the Department of Highways.
